Luismi Garayar first came into contact with the world of meat at the tender age of 10, when his parents took him to the fair in Tolosa.
It was there that he started to understand a world that was to become a true passion for him.
At 14, he knew with absolute certainty the trade he wanted to follow. So he started working with his father, expert on life and master butcher, at the family butcher’s shop in Rentería. He was charged with carefully choosing the product that was to be sold, because for Luismi truly excellent quality has always been key. At that time they were buying their meat from various caseríos (small farms) in Gipuzkoa in the Basque Country. Well aware of the high level of demand, particularly for their star product – beef – he turned to Galicia, and began to market meat from animals slaughtered in the region.
After gaining some experience in this new venture, and convinced that the price-quality ratio of meat from Galicia was exceptionally good, he decided to focus exclusively on this product, which was when he created CÁRNICAS LUISMI.
CÁRNICAS LUISMI is a company specialising in the selection and distribution of beef for the meat and hospitality sector (grills, restaurants, hotels, etc.). Their primary goal is customer satisfaction, which is why Luismi himself travels to Galicia with his son Ander each week: to select the product in person, thus ensuring top quality, diversity, and a perfect fit with the needs of each customer.
